My husband got some old school benches and bookcases from my dads school that they were throwing out and one of the benches made the perfect base for our window seat creation.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/7568124292/" title="window seat by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8434/7568124292_c9e343ebdf.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="window seat"></a>
He had to add some wood to make it taller but this created some nice little shelves to put baskets on. He painted it white and then I finished it off by making the seat cushion covers using some Cath Kidston fabric that I had bought in the sale a while ago.

Its perfect for our front window!!

This was the result, I'm not too sure if I like it if I'm honest.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/7568161126/" title="giant granny square blanket by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8285/7568161126_8ec21cbd46.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="giant granny square blanket"></a>

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/7568134128/" title="granny squares by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8143/7568134128_c7ccfd34e3.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="granny squares"></a>

I've been busy making all kinds of things but just never seem to get round to posting them.<br />
<br />
Anyway i started the new year by making this gorgeous crochet blanket for my sister to use as a baby blanket. I intend to make myself one as I love it! <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/6736109743/" title="granny square blanket by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7014/6736109743_da104e736a.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="granny square blanket"></a><br />
<br />
The actual crocheting didn't take too long, the nightmare was weaving in all the loose ends! I've learnt my lesson with this in future I'll get rid of the loose ends after I crochet each square!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/6736109739/" title="CIMG2465 by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7151/6736109739_a310c1e5e4.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="CIMG2465"></a> <br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/6736109735/" title="granny square blanket by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7018/6736109735_0727510a67.jpg" width="50 height="375" alt="granny square blanket"></a><br />
<br />
Now we just need to wait for the baby to arrive!!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/6736109731/" title="granny squares by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7154/6736109731_1ca4102e2a.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="granny squares"></a>Aunt Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00177578710344345699noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7017788927467162275.post-72251584223133359032011-08-24T12:29:00.001+01:002011-08-31T19:05:05.907+01:00Toadstool Fairy HouseThis is something I have been working on a while now. It's one of those things I kept starting then putting down and doing something else. Well at last it is completed!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/6075797815/" title="toadstool Fairy House by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6085/6075797815_6d042ed911.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="toadstool Fairy House"></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/6075797823/" title="toadstool Fairy House by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6068/6075797823_e6f1ed8802.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="toadstool Fairy House"></a><br />
<br />
I got the idea from www.ikatbag.com/2010/06/fairies-and-their-houses.html.<br />
<br />
I didn't buy the pattern instead I decided to make things harder for myself and create my own.<br />
<br />
As soon as I saw it I fell in love with it and knew my nieces would too! I'm going to make a few more and give them to my nieces for Christmas pressie's. I was thinking instead of doing them all Toadstool houses I could maybe do a Daisy house as well but still umming and arring about that one, what do you think???<br />
<br />
<br />
Here she is hiding from the world in her new home!!<br />
<br />

<br />
Mine involved lots of rain!! But, on a brighter note my sister in law gave birth on Sunday Morning to a beautiful little girl, Amelia Catherine May, weighing 7lb 13oz. <br />

Here is the cute little jacket I have knitted for her. Can't wait to see her in it.</p><a href="http://www.thegirlcreative.blogspot.com" target="_blank"><img alt="The Girl Creative" src="http://i456.photobucket.com/albums/qq286/happielife32/grab_button_150.png" /></a><a href="http://www.ladybug-blessings.com" target="new"><img src="http://www.ladybug-blessings.com/pictures/handmadepact.gif" height="150" width="150"></a><center><a href="http://www.handymancraftywoman.com/"><img border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/lars72/733blog%20design%20images/WAW_BUTTON.png" /></a></center><a href="http://www.strictly-homemade.blogspot.com" target="_blank"><img alt="Strictly Homemade Tuesday" src="http://i1037.photobucket.com/albums/a460/Maridithdesigns/StrictlyHomemade4125x125.jpg" /></a>Aunt Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00177578710344345699noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7017788927467162275.post-59856825703576968832011-07-13T19:59:00.004+01:002011-07-14T19:00:36.979+01:00union jack tote bag<div style="margin: 0 0 10px 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.8em; line-height: 1.6em;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5934075281/" title="union jack tote bag"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6121/5934075281_1691aac062.jpg" alt="union jack tote bag by Aunt Angie Sews" /></a><br />

<br />
Its my step daughters 12th birthday today and her is the pressie I made for her.<br />
<br />
I must admit I do find it hard to think of things to make her and also for my niece who is also the same age. <br />
<br />
I think its because I make a lot of toys which would be too young for them and then I do a lot of home stuff which would probably be too old for them!! So if anyone has any good ideas of pressie's for teenagers please share your thoughts!!<br />
<br />
I went with a bag becuase a figured any girl at any age loves bags and I personally love the union jack theme which seems to be in all the shops at the moment!!<br />
<br />
Hope she like it!!</p><br />

<br />
After a little time off from everything I got started with my two cushions I've been commissioned to do and my laundry bin liner.<br />
<br />
Two projects now ticked off the list.<br />
<br />
The cushions are for friends who have two little boys and wanted some customised cushions for them. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5878501964/" title="Untitled by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5272/5878501964_926786d9f1.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a><br />

<br />
The laundry bin liner was done for my new laundry bin that my husband made from spare wood he had. He's very talented!!<br />

Well maybe not quite a million but you know how it feels.<br />
<br />
I'm still crocheting away at my granny square blanket, hopefully it won't be too long before I can show you the finished product. I saw Gemmipops post last Wednesday and her blanket is looking great I only hope mine turns out half as good!!<br />
<br />
I have just started knitting a little baby jacket as I'm going to be an auntie again in a few weeks time, exciting stuff!!<br />
<br />
I need to make a lining bag for my new laundry bin that my husband has made me from some spare wood he had lying about.<br />
<br />
I'm in the middle of making a birthday pressie for my step daughter, can't tell you what it is though just in case she's reading this!!! (Hi Joanna!!)<br />
<br />
I've also started a Christmas pressie, yes I said Christmas pressie, for my nieces!! I thought I'd be good this year so instead of just saying I'll start making the presents early so I'm not rushing it all in Nov and Dec I actually would make them early. I have loads of people to make for so hopefully I can get them all done well before Nov then I can just concentrate on enjoying the festive season and start making myself some Christmas decorations, which is what I want to do every year but never have the time!!<br />
<br />
Oh, I've also just been commissioned to make a couple of personalised cushions. So I need to source the fabric for that and crack on with it!!<br />
<br />
Hopefully it won't be too long before I have one of these projects finished so I can show you all what they look like.Aunt Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00177578710344345699noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7017788927467162275.post-32718508894881940722011-06-14T21:36:00.002+01:002011-06-14T21:40:02.191+01:00cupcake cushion<div style="margin: 0 0 10px 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.8em; line-height: 1.6em;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5825178824/" title="cupcake cushion"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5076/5825178824_df87f243ab.jpg" alt="cupcake cushion by Aunt Angie Sews" /></a><br />

I found that Tea Cosy's make a great gift. They are really easy and fun to make. <br />
<br />
Below is just one of the Tea Cosy's I have made. This was a birthday pressie for my sister!<br />

<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5789555022/" title="Wool Storage basket by Aunt Angie., on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2597/5789555022_638c4df427.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Wool Storage basket"></a><br />
<br />
I added a pocket to keep my scissors and crochet needle in!<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5789555644/" title="Wool storage Basket by Aunt Angie., on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5262/5789555644_cb6cf663ab.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Wool storage Basket"></a><br />
<br />
Hopefully now I can be nice and tidy!!<br />

I have since put this in practice and used up some little balls of wool I had by making granny squares!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5785454855/" title="granny squares by Aunt Angie., on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2380/5785454855_d4326fb4ec.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="granny squares"></a><br />
<br />
The blanket is now taking shape but I think I still have a long way to go before it's finished!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5785454543/" title="granny squares blanket by Aunt Angie., on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2233/5785454543_11d3fedb64.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="granny squares blanket"></a><br />
<br />
I've used up all the pink and cream wool I had so I'm now introducing a new colour. Its actually more purple than it looks like in the pic. <br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5785454057/" title="granny squares by Aunt Angie., on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3367/5785454057_0c4fd5b932.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="granny squares"></a><br />
<br />
I have just visited 'Gemmipop designs' blog and she is also making a granny squares blanket. She has introduced some flowery squares into hers which are <br />
lovely. I'm hoping she will share the pattern with me so I can give it a go!! Hopefully my next update will be my first attempt at a flowery square!!<br />
<br />
<br />
Here we go, my first flowery square!! It took a lot longer to do than I thought but now i have the hang of it hopefully my next few won't take so long!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63246966@N08/5809350036/" title="flower crochet square by Aunt Angie Sews, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2277/5809350036_1b68e5b2fb.jpg" width="500"
height="375" alt="flower crochet square"></a><br />
<br />

<br />
These two dresses are my latest creation. I made them for my nieces as they had an Alice in Wonderland party to go to. They are the first dresses I've made and I am very pleased with the outcome. I didn't have a pattern to work from so I just used a couple of their dresses to draw round for the main body and then just used a bit of trial and error for the sleeves. <br />
<br />
Both girls loved the dresses and they were the best dressed Alice's at the party (well according to my sister!!!)<br />
