Alice in Wonderland Costume

Alice in Wonderland costume

These two dresses are my latest creation. I made them for my nieces as they had an Alice in Wonderland party to go to. They are the first dresses I've made and I am very pleased with the outcome. I didn't have a pattern to work from so I just used a couple of their dresses to draw round for the main body and then just used a bit of trial and error for the sleeves.

Both girls loved the dresses and they were the best dressed Alice's at the party (well according to my sister!!!)

I made this for my niece Emily's 4th Birthday. I got the idea when searching google image for fabric toys.

I got the pattern for this snail from 'Crafting Tilda's Friends' book by Tone Finnanger.
Stanley the snail now lives in my living room!!

My mother in law bought me this lovely cake stand as a Christmas gift and so instead of leaving it empty I thought I would make some cupcakes and put it on display.

Bunting

I absolutely love this kitchen dresser!! My husband painted it to match the rest of the kitchen and I just filled it with everything I love. I made the bunting out of scrap pieces of fabric I had.

These containers are great for storing little bits. I made my sister a set of three for Christmas and she finds them really useful. I intend on making myself some more to go on some shelves my hubby has just put up in the Laundry room. They are really quick and simple to make.

Home Sweet Home

I saw a canvas print in a shop which had Home Sweet Home on it, I liked it so thought why not make my own!!

Knitted Cushion

This was really easy to do, just a simple moss stitch for the cushion. Then an easy flower pattern which I got from www. ivillage.co.uk/how-knit-a-flower-corsage.

This was my first knitted project. I was really pleased with finished product and surprised at how easy it was to knit!

I made this cushion using scrap bits of fabric left over from other sewing projects. It's my favourite cushion so far!!

The storage box is one of my husbands creations I just made the cushions to finish it off!!

Sewing Box

I love my sewing box. My husband made me this out of wood and I then covered it in the felt . The inspiration for this came from Cath Kidston. The roof has wadding under the felt which means I can use it as a pin cushion as well which has proved very useful!!

Side view, I keep meaning to add more to this but haven't got round to it yet!!

This is great for storage, it fits loads in so instead of having loads of different boxes filled with different things I now just have one!

Flower Pot Door Stop

This, I think, was the first thing I made that I didn't actually have a pattern for. I got my idea from some pin cushions I saw in shop, there was a little flower pot and mouse. I just thought it would be nice to have the mouse peeping out from the flower pot. I'm really please with the way it turned out.

Cath Kidston Fabric Curtains

I made this curtain for my laundry room with the left over fabric from my kitchen curtains. There wasn't quite enough of it though so I added the red gingham at the bottom which I think works lovely with the Cath Kidston fabric.

Pin Board

Using left over material from my curtains I made this pin board. Its really easy to make I just bought a cheap wooden pin board for £1.00 and then put some wadding over it and the stapled the material over that, then just add the ribbon.

Cath Kidston Fabric Heart

After making my curtains I had some left over fabric so I made this little heart to hang in my kitchen.

ribbon Tie back

A simple way to tie back curtains. I just used sticky back velcro to hold the curtains to the wall.

These curtains were my first sewing project.

Toy Rabbit

This rabbit is again from the 'Sew Sunny Homestyle' book. I just made a couple of changes. The ears in the book are upright but I prefer floppy ears on rabbits and I added the carrot. This one was made for my niece Sophie's 1st Birthday.

Toy Mouse

I love this mouse. Its from the 'Sew Sunny Homestyle' book. I made this for my niece Emily's 3rd Birthday. When I have time I'm going to make one for myself to sit on a shelf somewhere!!

toy cat

This was one of my earlier creations for my niece Skye's 1st Birthday. Its from the 'Sew Pretty Homestyle' book.
